VanLife Simulator: New Beginnings, Challenges, and Mobile Launch

When you first hear about VanLife Simulator, you probably think about how freeing it would be to travel the world in a caravan, right? Well, that’s exactly what we aimed to create. Traveling by van, building your own lifestyle on the road… but making a game is never as easy as it sounds. We’ve faced financial challenges along the way, and had to take a break for a while. But now, we’re excited to say that we’re back and working on both the PC and mobile versions of VanLife Simulator, with the mobile version now live!

Mobile Version: A More Casual Experience
The mobile version offers a lighter, more casual experience. It’s designed for players who want to jump into the game, customize their van, and explore the world in short, fun sessions. You’ll be able to take your van life adventures wherever you go. We wanted this version to be more accessible, so whether you're commuting, waiting for a friend, or just relaxing at home, the game is always right at your fingertips.
PC Version: A Deep Simulation Experience
On the other hand, the PC version offers a more in-depth simulation. If you want to really dive into the details of van life, customizing every aspect of your camper and exploring a richer, more expansive world, the PC version is for you. Here, you’ll have the chance to build your life on the road, grow your camper, and experience the deeper aspects of the lifestyle we’ve built in the game.
Switching from Unreal to Unity & Our New Style
Another exciting development is our switch from Unreal Engine to Unity. While Unreal is an amazing engine, we found Unity to be more familiar to our team and much better optimized for the kind of gameplay we wanted to create. Unity also allowed us to refine the visual style and bring a more unique, stylized look to VanLife Simulator. We’re really proud of the art direction, which gives the game its own personality and vibe, whether you’re playing on PC or mobile.

Both versions of the game are designed with different platforms in mind, but they both offer the freedom and fun of van life. Whether you’re a PC player on Steam or prefer gaming on your mobile device, we hope you’ll enjoy VanLife Simulator on whichever platform you choose.
